Today i am testing Batch 2 of my Natural Hardwood Ash Lye, using Soft Water.(Rain Water) Roughly my Camping Pot holds 4 litres of Water. i filled this with 1/2 a Third Charcoal, and 1/2 a Third Hardwood Ash. So basically 1/3rd of my pot was Ash and Charcoal Combined. i filled with Rain Water and Brought it to a boil and simmered this mixture for 34 mins. i then let this mixture sit for a week. then i strained it and soaked my pre- made stretched Amadou from a New Zealand Artist Conk Polypore. 🌏🍄🌿🌿🌿in my Natural Ash Lye Solution for about 7 days. this video shows the results of how reactive it is, compared to batch 1 Feel free to give your feedback, comments or Questions in the comment section please.
