What Is Young Sheldon?

In this video I discuss what Young Sheldon, the CBS sitcom and the Big Bang Theory prequel, is and how it handles Sheldon Cooper's neurodiversity and masculinity, as well as the characters of color on the show like Tam, and how Young Sheldon both tries to appeal to older millennials and boomers via nostalgia for the 80s and 90s, as well as to the younger more ‘PC’ generation, and how it mostly fails. Young Sheldon starring Iain Armitage and Jim Parsons and co-produced by Chuck Lorre premiered in September 2017, and was recently renewed for three more seasons - with season 5 coming out this October.
