John plays lead guitar on his sanded Epiphone Casino by playing country/blues inspired solos while George stuck to smacking out chords on his twangy Rosewood Telecaster. Notice how before Billy Preston's keyboard solo George changes to a D chord when he should have stayed on an A. The Epiphone Casino being used for John's part was extensively modified to have all the visual and sonic characteristics of John's famous sanded Casino played at The Beatles' impromptu rooftop concert in 1969. This Epiphone Casino was made in 2001 at the Peerless factory in Korea. The volume/tone pots were changed and the tone capacitors were replaced with Orange Drops. The neck pickup volume knob was replaced with a black one and a black "goof" washer was put underneath the pickup selector, just like Lennon's. Most notably was the replacement of the original tuners with gold, vintage-style Grover "Milk Bottle" Rotomatic tuners, the exact same kind that John had on his guitar. Interestingly, both the Inspired By John Lennon "Revolution" Casino and Limited Edition Lennon Revolution Casino do not have the milk bottle Grover tuners. Enjoy!
