The periphery state founded by Samantha Calderon is one of the most forward thinking and egalitarian states in the Periphery. Citizens here have some of the highest literacy rates of the entire human sphere including the great houses and it offers many opportunities beyond. However it's history is one of brutal conflict and paranoid hand wringing. The state resisted the might of the star league for 20 years before finally joining in defeat during the reunification war. Post succession wars it remains on a state of high alert for fear of it's neighbour, the federated suns, invading them. However this has created one of the best military forces in the periphery, if not the best military amongst the periphery. No invader can expect an easy time when they fight the bull of the Taurian Concordat.
