Why I don't dock start (much) anymore (or... an alternative to dock starting)

I used to dock start at every chance I got - I was one of the first few people to join the 'Dock Start' FaceBook group, and as far as I know I was the second person ever to utilise the ladder start method in the absence of a proper dock. My PB for continual flat water pumping from a dock (ladder) was 3 mins 2 secs (only once so I'm not sure if that was accurate but I've definitely done around 2 min 30 secs a few times) but mostly each time I could only pump between 1 min and 1 min 30 secs. Over the years I've posted countless videos in the Dock Start group for dock starting and pumping techniques, and have reviewed many foils, stabs and fuselages for their suitability for dock starting. Why am I bothering to tell you all this? - because I'm hoping that by knowing my background people will watch this video without dismissing it as something that should not be posted in this group. In my opinion this is a very effective method of pump training (fitness as well as technique), as well as being able to flat water pump if you don't have access to a dock - which is exactly why I had to build a ladder in the first place! Why do we dock start? We do it so we can pump around on flat water, do a few cool carves, to find wakes or swell to ride (if it is available) and maybe even for fitness. Well this method takes care of all of those things and more, so I really hope you find it useful as I strongly believe that a lot of people could find it a very effective and fun addition to their foiling game.
