Steam Deck OLED Headphone Noise Investigation

Be sure to check out the follow up video!    • Follow Up: Steam Deck OLED Audio Issues   There are reports that the Steam Deck OLED model exhibits extra noise on the 3.5mm headphone output jack. I am also someone who owns an OLED model with this issue and previously owned an LCD model which never encountered this issue. If you have this issue please reach out to Steam support about it. We need to make them aware that this is a design flaw in this revision of the Steam Deck. The "fix" that some users have suggested which is a simple "ground lift" appears to mitigate the issue, though I wouldn't recommend it personally. In this video I make a comparison of the audio board with grounded shielding and with the shielding isolated from ground. Here are the sample audio files from the tests: https://mega.nz/folder/gP4VDb4L#GFifq... It is significantly louder in person when using IEMs or earbuds however I am able to hear the noise in regular headphones and it is present in recordings. I may upload more audio samples during various game play later.
