One day her mom gets killed in front of her by a witch. Vera runs and hits her head due to being stabbed. The moon hung low in the sky, casting elongated shadows across the desolate highway. Sam and Dean Winchester, seasoned hunters of the supernatural, drove their black Chevy Impala through the night. As they rounded a bend, headlights caught a figure stumbling along the roadside. Dean squinted, his hunter instincts kicking in. "Sam," he said, "pull over. Looks like we've got company." Sam eased the car to a stop, and they both stepped out. The 17 year old girl was huddled against the cold, her clothes torn, and her eyes wide with fear. Her name, she mumbled, was Vera. "Lost," she said, her voice a whisper. "Hungry. Hurt." Sam's heart went out to her. He'd seen enough pain in his life to recognize it in others. "We'll take care of you," he promised, helping her into the backseat. Dean raised an eyebrow but said nothing. They'd helped strangers before—sometimes they were hunters like them, other times just lost souls. As the miles went on, Vera's story unfoldef. She had no memory of who she was or how she'd ended up on that lonely road. Her survival was a mystery—stab wounds that should have been fatal had healed, and hunger hadn't claimed her. She was more than human, that much was clear. Sam felt a connection with her, a paternal instinct he hadn't known he possessed. He taught her how to use a knife, how to protect herself. Dean grumbled about the extra passenger, but he couldn't deny the bond forming between Sam and Vera. Then came the revelation that turned their world upside down: Vera was the daughter of Ruby, the demon who had once used Sam. Half-demon, half-human. The brothers exchanged glances, wondering how they'd missed the signs. But Vera was different she didn't thirst for blood or crave destruction. She was lost, searching for answers. They delved into lore, seeking clues about Vera's origins. And that's when they stumbled upon the second secret: Vera was destined to be a Witch from Oz. The land of yellow brick roads, flying monkeys, and magic beyond imagination. But which witch? The wicked or the good? Vera's eyes held both darkness and light. She could command storms and heal wounds. She wore a silver pendant—a tiny tornado encased in glass. It pulsed with energy, whispering secrets only she could hear. Sam sat her down one evening, the Impala parked in a forgotten field. "Vera," he said, "you have a choice. Embrace your demon side, or follow the path of light. Be the wicked witch or the Glinda who guides lost souls." She stared into the distance, torn between worlds. "I don't want to hurt anyone," she whispered. "But power—it's intoxicating." Dean leaned against the car, lighting a cigarette. "You're family now," he said gruffly. "We'll help you figure it out." And so, Vera stood at the crossroads of her existence. The moon watched, silent witness to her struggle. Would she have green skin and cackle with malice, or don a sparkling gown and spread kindness? Sam hoped for the latter. He'd lost so much already. Maybe, just maybe, Vera could be the light that guided them all. And as the Impala roared back onto the highway, Vera's choice hung in the air like the scent of rain before a storm. If only a certain evil witch named Evanora who killed Vera's adopted mother, hadn't given her a cursed apple. She reveals Vera's past, she's Sam's daughter as well. Darkness seeped into her veins, curling around her heart. Vera felt power surge an intoxicating rush. Her eyes glowed green, and her cackle echoed Dean's grip tightened on his knife. "We've got to stop her," he said. "She's turning wicked." Sam shook his head. "Not yet. There's still good in her." Vera's transformation was swift. She levitated, her hair swirling like a tempest. She summoned storms, lightning crackling from her fingertips and her laughter it chilled the air. Yet Sam remembered the nights he'd spent with Vera, teaching her to read, sharing stories of their hunts. She'd clung to him, seeking comfort. She was more than demon blood and magic. She was family. So with help from Ruby and Castiel they cured Vera from Evanora's curse. Then together sent her back to Oz.
