Bladder Ultrasound

This Harvard Medical School Continuing Education video examines these key questions: How do I select the correct ultrasound probe for the bladder, and what does normal anatomy look like? How do I obtain basic views of the bladder in the transverse and longitudinal planes? How do I calculate bladder volume? Associate Residency Program Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Dan Restrepo, MD, FHM, discusses correct probe selection and scanning techniques for point-of-care bladder ultrasound. He reviews normal anatomy for both male and female bladders while providing ultrasound examples for each, and he instructs viewers to calculate bladder volume using width, depth, and height measurements.
