Alex Lee discusses how imperative activities involving public speaking are for students in their formative years of education. He recounts his personal story from being a first-generation immigrant all the way to competing on the USA National Debate Team, analyzing the crucial role speech and debate have played in his life. Alex Lee is a 16-year-old junior currently attending Harvard-Westlake school in Los Angeles, California. He is one of 12 students on the USA National Debate Team, and has internationally competed in speech and debate for nearly a decade, championing over two dozen different events. He serves as an official coach and instructor at Wilshire Academy and iANT Education. He is a founder or project manager of numerous non-profit organizations including Project QUIPS, Project Dialogue, Voices Beyond Assault, and Alzheimer's Association.
