In this latest video we see the return of a locomotive which previously features in one of our earliest videos, Engines in the Night. The 0-4-0 Romulus is on a some what long term loan whilst its own railway is under construction. Back from being in a workshop in Staffordshire for six to nine months, it's difficult to recognise the engine after having extensive work carried out. The side tanks are replaced for a saddle tank, a new dome cover, the cab restructured, new pipe work, ash pan adjustments, brake handle moved and even a new whistle! But most obvious is the new livery, the blue is bye bye and the green is go. Still to be fully finished and already rumours of a different livery for next year. Today was more about testing the locomotive after all this extensive work. A late start in the day but plenty of trains to haul up the gradient!
