We've gotten many questions about what they are, so I thought it'd be good to get into it sooner than later so you have the tools to pronounce the Cantonese words accurately with an ease. :) (So for those who may be wondering, 002.2 about written Chinese will come later!!) Cantonese is known for its complicated tonal system, traditionally speaking there are the "9 sounds 6 tones", but more recently it has been simplified to 6 main tones to make it less confusing than it already is. Tones are one of, if not the most difficult aspect of Cantonese, especially for English Speakers. Hopefully the graphics and explanation are helpful for understanding.
