The Redskins hosted the Lions in their first playoff appearance in seven seasons, and for one January evening it almost seemed like old times as Washington dominated Detroit for a decisive victory in the '99 NFC Wild Card Game. Stephen Davis managed only a half on one good ankle, but made the most of it with 119 yards on just 15 carries, including two touchdowns. Fan favorite / wayward son Gus Frerotte was welcomed back with open arms - to the tune of 5 sacks (and two interceptions) as Washington's typically forgiving defense smothered the Lions. The Redskins rolled to a 27-0 halftime lead and coasted from there to the 27-13 victory. This is the one and only Redskins playoff victory at FedEx Field (unlikely though they may be, any future home playoff wins for Washington won't be Redskins wins, now will they?).
