This glorious performance comes from the opening night of the New York Philharmonic's 1997 season. Kurt Masur is the conductor. It's rare to hear such a full voiced soprano in this piece especially one who can manage the coloratura unaspirated and has such a good trill. I love hearing the non period orchestra too, showing that there is still a place for this, when the playing is stylish and musical as it is here. Though the parts exist elsewhere on youtube, I edited together the various fragments I had, and added an excerpt from Fleming's 2001 proms performance with Christoph Eschenbach to bridge the gap in the central recit.
